Enjoying the land!

Today in Upstate New York, we're experiencing a steady rain and some distant rolling thunder can be heard.  It's kind of a nice break from our summer heat.  Spring and summer bring long, busy days with lots of activity on the land and plenty of opportunities for quality, family time.

On Father's Day, I caught four beautiful rainbow trout with my fly rod on the pond we built here at our farm.  It's always extra special being able to hunt or fish with some success on your own land.  This spring, we did a lot of tree planting in addition to putting in our usual food plots, which is something a lot of our land customers have done as well.

I like to get all our winter's wood in early in the spring so that more time can be spent fishing and canoeing in the warming months on the great rivers and ponds of Northern New York State.

Turkey season was one of the best ever.  We had an early, mild spring last year which produced record numbers of birds and some huge gobblers.  In fact, our two farm properties, currently for sale in Camden, had some of the best turkey hunting in the region. 

The steelhead run was good this year in Pulaski and my son, Marc and friends treated us to a ton of delicious walleye filets this May.  There's simply no better fishing than here in the Tug Hill region of New York.

Just up the road at our country store, the West Camden Country Store, I've met several of our past buyers who have been up on the weekends and vacations enjoying their camps. I really enjoy hearing about their hunting and fishing experiences and seeing the way they "light up" when talking about time spent on their property.

It's a great time of year to be at camp.  The evenings are cool and the summers are so relaxing and enjoyable.  I hope you will all enjoy some great trips and evening campfires with family and friends. If, by chance, you still don't own a piece of land to get away to, or a camp to enjoy the peace and quiet, well you had better get moving!  Fall hunting season is coming fast.

Christmas & Associates will be putting up some unbelievable land bargains during our summer land sale event called Christmas In July, which will be held on July 10.  I'll be there that day taking a bunch of folks on an ATV tour and you'll have a chance to do some of that great fishing I've been bragging about.  I hope you can make it.
